GI Earthing Plate – Galvanized Iron Plate Electrode
GI Earthing Plates are essential grounding components that safely discharge leakage current and lightning surges into the ground. Made from iron with a protective zinc coating, they offer excellent rust prevention and a long service life in buried conditions.
The large, flat surface of the plate gives a wide contact area with the soil. This spreads fault current quickly and helps keep earth resistance low. The plates are available from 300 x 300 mm up to 600 x 600 mm, with standard 3 mm thickness and custom thicknesses on request.
Installation
The plate is usually buried vertically in an earth pit, surrounded by charcoal and salt or an earth-enhancing compound, and connected to the installation through a GI strip or GI wire.
